Judy Rogers Concert March 12, 2016 6:30pm

Judy Belcher Rogers was born and raised in the Appalachian Mountains of southwest Virginia.  She attended King College in Bristol, Tennessee, and in 1971 married Wayne Rogers, a native of North Carolina.  Wayne has been a Reformed Presbyterian pastor since 1971. Their three children, Emily, Christian, and Jon Isaac, were the greatest reasons Judy began writing songs in the early 1980's.  Believing that music is powerful and that our children can learn much more than we often realize, Judy began writing songs that would be distinctively biblical, thought provoking, and melodically addicting! Wayne suggested that Judy write songs for the major themes of the Westminster Children's and Shorter Catechisms, and thus began her music ministry.

God has used these songs mightily, and now, 20 years later, children all over the world are learning the great teachings of the Bible & Children’s Catechism through her music. Altogether, twelve recordings have been produced in the past 28 years with thousands being sold or given through ministry.  Now, one of Wayne & Judy’s greatest joys is to see their ten grandchildren singing those songs and learning as they grow!

"Word Series" with Wayne and Judy Rogers March 13-16, 2016

Wayne and Judy were at Filbert from 1971-1976, and helped lead the congregation into the PCA in 1973. Wayne is the pastor at Covenant Heritage Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, AL.  Judy is an accomplished songwriter and musician, having recorded several albums putting Biblical truth to song.  Judy will be performing a concert of her music on Saturday March 12 at 6:30pm.  The concert is free and open to the community.  Her website is www.judyrogers.com.  We will have five worship services beginning Sunday March 13-Wednesday evening March 16, with Wayne preaching for us.
